You are cordially invited to the Academy’s Virtual Public Forum on Dam Infrastructure and Flood Risk Management.
The Public Forum will consider lessons learned from flood incidents related to dam infrastructure, with particular focus on the catastrophic flooding from the Alau Dam in Borno State in September 2024. The Forum will develop recommendations for upgrading and improving the maintenance and management of dams and other infrastructure in the country. These recommendations will take into account rising demand for water for domestic and agriculture use, hydroelectric power requirements, and the growing impacts of climate change, etc.
