The Nigerian Academy of Engineering announces with heavy hearts the demise of Engr. Akinwunmi Adegboye, FNSE, FAEng, who passed on Sunday, 26th October 2025, aged 93 years.

Engr. Akinwunmi Adegboye was a consummate professional and a visionary leader. Throughout his distinguished career, Engr. Adegboye held several leadership acrooss both the public and private sectors, contributing significantly to the development of infrastructure, energy systems, and industrial projects. A pioneer in Nigeria’s steel industry, he dedicating his life to advancing engineering practice and fostering innovation, leaving an enduring legacy that continues to inspire excellence in Nigeria and beyond.

Engr. Adegboye was a Foundation Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering with registration number 001 and contributed greatly to the activities of the Academy.

May Almighty God grant the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
