The Nigerian Academy of Engineering hosted its 2nd National Innovation Competition in 2025.

The competition received over 58 entries. 

The innovators and their innovations passed through 2 stages of verification and the top 7 finalists were invited to an exhibition and awards night which held on the 25th of June, 2025.

One interesting fact about this edition is that there was a tie for 3rd place.

1st - Production of 3D Printing Filament from PET Bottles by Dr. Vitalis Chioh Anye

2nd - Automated Hot Air Dryer Powered by TLUD Biomass Gasifier by Prof. Ayoola Olalusi

3rd - Tilting Gas Fired Crucible Furnace by Prof. Babson Ajibade

3rd - Smart Solar Inverter Management System by Prof. Folashade Dahunsi

The remaining innovations were honourable mentions, and in no particular order.
