The webinar on climate change hosted by the Nigerian Academy of Engineering held on the 16th of June 2026. The theme of the webinar was “Achieving Nigeria's Sustainability and Climate Change Goals: Challenges, Opportunities, And Practice”.
In attendance were about 102 people, including Fellows and Non-Fellows. A special address was given by Ms. Amina Mohammed, who is the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations. Other guest speakers included Mrs. Titilayo Oshodi (Special Adviser on Climate Change and Secular Economy, Lagos State Government), Mrs. Amudi Chioma Felistas Edeh (Representing the Director General, National Council Climate Change Secretariat) and Prof. S. S. Adefila, FAEng (Member, Environment and Climate Change Committee).
The presentations were quite insightful and engaging, with the audience asking relevant questions pertaining to the theme of discussion. The whole session was moderated by the Honorary Technical secretary of the Academy, in person of Dr. Coker.
